Our Approach

Neighborhood and Community Development is complicated and so are the many different approaches. Our approach is to use a straight forward framework capable of meeting the needs of any community. Each of the three stages below can be customized for your local environment yet still be understood by everyone.

Train
It is our goal to have neighborhoods led by the people who live there. Leaders are not born, they are developed. To be an effective leader, one must invest in themselves. BuildNeighborhoods offers training specific to the needs of neighborhood leaders. Our training focuses on topics such as Crime Prevention, Organization Leadership, and Neighborhood Planning.

Plan
No one will take any effort seriously without some type of plan to guide the way. They defineately won't contribute large sums of money to someone making it up as they go. The real question is how deep do you want to go with your plan based upon the needs and resources of your community.

Implement
Training and Planning are only useful if you follow the activity with action. If you want to see results in your community, you need to implement your plan with the people you trained during the proccess. Action attracts more participants and resources which makes implementing much easier, so focus on implementation.
