We offer training in the following topics:
Using the concepts outlined in Neighborhood Builder, we explain how to develop block groups within your neighborhood. We provide insight into the role of the block captain, skills they need to develop, and how to plug their activity into larger neighborhood organization.
Neighborhood organizations can be weak or powerful depending on their capacity to get things done. Using committees and well thought out agendas can deliver the progress neighbors are looking for.
Neighborhood plans, when done well, tie everything together in a neighborhood. They let people know the direction everything is headed and demonstrates leadership. There are many ways to conduct neighborhood planning; however, we feel we have the best approach.
Hospitals are now looking at getting involved in addressing social determinants of healthcare, but are in new territory. We have training designed to help them navigate through the different topics of community development.
We will offer training for individuals and small groups at different times throughout the year. Our classes will be focused on one of the topics above and will allow questions to be typed in the chat box.s

When cities or large organizations are interested, BuildNeighborhoods can offer onsite training. Typically, this is a half-day Saturday or a week night training where we focus on training for block captain, neighborhood leadership mechanics, and action committees. With an onsite training day, consulting sessions for neighbors or the organization can be built into the schedule.
